Dr Kassab has been serving the Mount Joy area since 1991. He graduated from Penn State University in 1978 with a degree in Biology,
and University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1982. Prior to graduating dental school, he and his wife, Dr Janice
Johnson, joined the United States Navy. Upon graduation they were stationed at Camp Pendleton Ca to begin a nine year career
in the active Navy. With the Navy, Dr Kassab has also been stationed in LaMaddalena, Italy, Philadelphia Pa, and Norfolk Va. While on active duty he had the opportunity to have a one year training program in advanced clinical dentistry. He also completed
and graduated from the Naval War College. While leaving active duty in 1991, he has continued to serve his country in the Navy
Reserves. He was promoted to Captain in 2000, and is currently assigned to 4th Dental Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group. His military responsibilities include monthly weekends serving our reservists and two weeks a year, which have taken place in a number
of places throughout the world.
Dr Kassab is active in his dental profession; he is a member of the American Dental Association,
Pennsylvania Dental Association, Lancaster County Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Association of Military
Surgeons of the United States. He received his Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry in 1991, which required over 1000
hours of continuing education and an arduous testing process. He continues to educate himself by taking numerous courses
in advancements in dentistry every year.
Dr Kassab is active in the Mount Joy community. As a member of the Mount Joy Rotary
club, which he has belonged to since 1992, you can find him selling French Fries from the Rotary “Fry” Wagon at many local events. The club is working hard to raise money to complete Rotary Park, soccer and baseball fields, in Mount Joy. He is a past president
of the club and continues to serve as the Assistant Treasurer and sits on the Board of Directors for the club. He has been on
the Board of Directors for Boy Scout Troop 39 for 10 years. In the past he ran the summer Music in the Park series, and continues
to help with the program. Dr Kassab lends a hand whenever he can to help make Mount Joy a better place to work and live.
Dr
Kassab is married to Dr Janice Johnson and they have 3 children. Chrissy is a student at Bucknell Universiy, majoring in Geology. Emily attends Saint Lois University as a Physical Therapy major. Laura attends Donegal High School and is planning on majoring
in Nutrition at college. When not busy with dentistry, his reserve obligations, or community activities, Dr Kassab enjoys gardening,
camping and running.
